Just finished this book and I really enjoyed it. What a wild ride of a life from a family kitchen of inspiration to her own restaurant kitchen which sounds like boot camp every day. My kitchen is the most used room of the house and I hope it is warm and inspiring and that my kids, when they think about it, have delicious and satisfying memories of it. But my understanding and respect for food is nowhere near the level of Gabrielle's. I appreciate her talent and wish I could walk into the grocery store and formulate a menu after a quick browse. And yet another plug for a trip to Italy! I admit I watch "Eat, Pray, Love" for the Italian chapter. I love the scene where Julia assuredly orders course after course in Italian for her impressed friends. Okay, I would really like to go to Bali too.
Perhaps a trip to New York and a meal at Prune!
